What's Included in a Furnace Tune-Up

When Airdrie Air completes a furnace tune-up, we go quite a bit further than just looking the furnace over.

One of the biggest benefits is that we guarantee the furnace not to break down for one year after the tune-up. If it does break down during that time, we will apply the amount you paid for the tune-up toward the repair.

During the tune-up, our technician goes through the furnace to make sure it is operating safely, properly, and as efficiently as possible.

Some of the main things we do include:

Clean the flame sensor.
Clean and inspect the furnace P-trap and drainage system.
Check and set the gas pressure to make sure the furnace is firing properly.
Check the temperature rise through the furnace to make sure it is heating correctly.
Test the airflow and measure the static pressure to make sure the furnace is getting proper airflow.
Check the blower motor and blower wheel.
Test the blower motor capacitor.
Inspect and test the ignitor.
Check the burners and ignition operation.
Inspect the venting and combustion system.
Check the safety controls and furnace operation.
Checking CO levels in the flue pipes and inside the home.
Look for anything that may be starting to wear out or could cause a future breakdown.
We also keep a record of the readings from the furnace, so we have something to compare against during future services.

The whole idea is not just to check the furnace. We want to catch potential problems early, make sure it is running safely and properly, and help prevent an unexpected breakdown when you need the furnace the most.
