When installing a high-efficiency furnace, the intake and exhaust venting must pass through the exterior of the home—typically through the side wall, front, or rear. While cutting these openings is necessary, how they are finished and sealed is critical to the long-term protection of the home.
After the vent holes are cut, using a solid PVC termination plate is essential. Foam or caulking alone is not a reliable or long-term solution.
